A candid note from Tim & Krystle — where things stand, what we're already doing about it, and the specific one-time costs we're working to cover before the end of September.
To our family,
We're a family of nine — the two of us and seven kids, all under 17, all part of our family through adoption and foster care. We've been at this a long time, and we intend to keep at it.
At the end of 2025 our income dropped substantially, and it hasn't recovered. This past year we paid off five debts, caught a payroll withholding error that had quietly been costing us about $900 a paycheck, kept our mortgage and every obligation for the kids current, and started building contract work as a second income. That work is holding.
What that income doesn't cover is a cluster of one-time costs all landing between now and the end of September. These aren't recurring bills — they're obligations that happened to arrive together, in a year when the reserve that would normally absorb them isn't there.
Below is exactly what we need, item by item. Please read it as “give what you can, if you can” — any single line is a complete help, and there's no expectation. And money isn't the only way: a mechanic's eyes on a quote, gently-used kids' clothes, or the right introduction can matter just as much. We'll account for anything given, to whoever gives it.
With love and a lot of gratitude,
